SOLID WASTE COLLECTIONS for the Town of Duck are provided for by Waste Management, Inc. Collections utilize existing BLACK AND BROWN containers.

Days & Hours of Collection are as follows. NOTE: The schedule does NOT change when scheduled collections occur on public holidays. The collection schedule is maintained 364 days per year, except for December 25.

Residential Solid Waste Curbside Pickup:

• May 1st through September 30th; Mondays & Fridays (twice per week)
• October 1st through April 30th; Mondays (once per week)
• To avoid missed residential collections, individuals are advised to place the collection bin at the curbside the night prior or on the day of collection no later than 5:30am.
• Position collection bin with opening toward the street, within three (3) feet from the road.
• All trash must be contained within collection bin in order for it to be collected. Do not place yard & brush trimmings, ashes, construction debris, rocks, dirt, shingles, or concrete in your container, as these materials are too heavy to be lifted by the collection equipment.
• Health and safety hazards may occur if containers are overflowing and rubbish exceeds the container capacity. Please do not overload. Do not leave bags, boxes, or junk along side collection bin, or they will not be collected.
• Once trash has been collected, relocate collection bin from the street to under or alongside the house no later than 12:00 midnight on the day of collection from the street.

• Year Round; Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays
• Do not dispose of: tires, wire rope, hazardous materials, construction/demolition debris, scrap metal, medical waste, liquids, tarps, carpeting, ashes, or yard waste (clippings, trimmings, brush) in a commercial dumpster.
• Collapse those cardboard boxes! Tossing empty boxes into the dumpster takes up precious space.
• Please ensure that collection equipment has access to the container(s).
